Building a better community
We are a proud supporter of various community projects and fundraisers to raise awareness of a diverse range of issues that affect our community. In 2012, we were a major sponsor of the Unity Facilities Committee - New Pool Project. We also supported the the following:

As well as many other worthwhile causes and numerous employee volunteer hours.
Corporate Sponsorship
Sponsorships and donations involve financial and/or in-kind contributions (i.e. staff time, donation of equipment, provision of office space) to local events or organizations. Preference is given to charitable and non-profit events and organizations. The credit union may consider sponsorships and donations in the following areas:

Communtiy economic development

Youth and education

Visible minorities

Health and human services

Agriculture

Arts and culture

Professional or amateur sport

Co-operative development
The credit union will not support:

Political or religious organizations

Advocacy organizations whose causes are publicly controversial

Requests for general operating expenses

Financial support to benefit an individual
Bursaries
Each year Unity Credit Union selects two high school graduates to receive bursaries of $2000; to assist with tuition fees. Qualifications include: a strong academic standing, an active member of the community, and extra-curricular involvement at Unity Composite High School.
Junior Board Member Program
Every year Unity Credit Union's Board of Directors reserves two positions for Jr. Board Members to be an active participant at Board meetings. Positions are available for one Grade 11 student and one Grade 12 student. Jr. Board Members are re-munerated for each meeting they attend. The remuneration is given in the form of a scholarship towards their post-secondary education.
